Dear noble brothers, we are discussing a new lesson of this series about the Ayaat that start with, "O you who believe…", and the Ayah today is the following:
(O you
who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even though it
be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah
is a Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your
hearts), lest you may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse
to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do.)
[An-Nisa', 135]
When man talks about unimportant
matters, he might be flat on his back, but when he discusses something
important, he sits up, and if he discusses a serious issue, he stands up heedfully.
This heedful attentive attitude is referred to in the Noble Quran by the word
(Qawwam) which is a hyperbole tense, in other words, the believer is extremely
keen on searching for the truth. Allah the Almighty says:
[An-Nisa', 135]
A
scholar said, "Establishing justice for an hour is as valuable as
worshipping Allah for 80 years." In this context, do you treat your
daughter-in-law the same way you wish your daughter to be treated in her
household? Do you ask your wife to do something that is beyond her scope, while
you yourself refuse to do it? Do you give yourself the right to do certain
things while you deprive your wife from such a right? If you are like that,
then you are a racist.
